01Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is GSS Analytics Ltd, trading as BARDH & GENT, 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom, company number 15429646. Contact: info@bardhgent.com.
We process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and, where applicable to visitors from the European Economic Area and Switzerland, the EU GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).
02Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted on servers located in the European Union. When you visit the website, the web server automatically records log data: the IP address of the requesting device, date and time of the request, the requested resource, HTTP status, transferred data volume, referrer URL and browser user agent. This data is processed to deliver the website, ensure its stability and security, and investigate misuse (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted or anonymised within a short, routine rotation period and are not merged with other data sources.
03Cookies, local storage and web analytics
We use the browser's local storage for functional purposes only: remembering your selected display currency (EUR/CHF) and whether you have already seen our newsletter notice. These entries contain no personal data and remain on your device until you clear your browser data.
Microsoft Clarity. This website uses Microsoft Clarity, a web analytics service provided by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland (together with Microsoft Corporation, USA, “Microsoft”). Clarity helps us understand how visitors use the site through behavioural metrics, heatmaps and session replays, which we use to improve our products and the shopping experience. For this purpose Clarity sets cookies (in particular _clck and _clsk) and processes usage data such as pages visited, mouse movements, clicks, scrolling behaviour, device and browser information, and your truncated IP address. Data may be transferred to Microsoft servers in the United States; such transfers are safeguarded by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and EU standard contractual clauses. Data collected via Clarity is retained by Microsoft for a limited period (session recordings up to 30 days, aggregated analytics up to 13 months). More information can be found in Microsoft's privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement. You can opt out of Clarity by using your browser's cookie controls or by contacting us at info@bardhgent.com.
Google Analytics 4. This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). We use it to understand how the site is found and used — which pages are viewed, which products are opened, which sizes and colourways are selected, which cities are searched for and how many visitors sign up for the newsletter — so that we can improve the shop. For this purpose Google Analytics sets cookies (in particular _ga and _ga_<container-id>) and processes usage data such as pages visited, referring source, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device and browser information. IP addresses are shortened by Google before any further processing and are not stored in full. We have configured Google Consent Mode so that advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalisation are set to denied; the data collected is used for analytics only and is not used to build advertising profiles or shared for advertising purposes. Data may be transferred to Google servers in the United States; such transfers are safeguarded by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and EU standard contractual clauses. In our property, event data is retained for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months; the user-level period restarts whenever the same visitor returns. Further information is available in Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. You can prevent collection by Google Analytics by installing the browser add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, by using your browser's cookie controls, or by contacting us at info@bardhgent.com.
Our own visitor counter. To see how many people are on the site at a given moment and roughly where they are, each page sends a short signal to our own server (/api/hit) on load and, while the tab stays open and visible, every 30 seconds for up to half an hour. The signal contains a randomly generated identifier stored in your browser's local storage (bg-vid), the page you are on and, on the first request of a visit, the address you came from. Our web server additionally records your IP address in a log file for a maximum of three days. The IP address is used solely to derive an approximate location via ipwho.is; the result is rounded to roughly 55 kilometres, and your IP address is never stored in our analytics database — only a salted, irreversible hash of it, which is deleted after 30 days. Visit records themselves are deleted after three days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and operating our shop (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can remove the identifier at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
04Web fonts
This website loads the fonts used in its design from Google Fonts, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. When a page is loaded, your browser connects to Google's servers, which necessarily discloses your IP address to Google. We use this service on the basis of our legitimate interest in a uniform presentation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Further information is available in Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
05Newsletter
If you sign up for our newsletter (“Join the line”), we process the e-mail address you provide in order to send you information about upcoming drops and products. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, for example via the unsubscribe link contained in every newsletter or by e-mailing info@bardhgent.com. Your e-mail address is stored until you unsubscribe.
06Orders and customer accounts
When you place an order, we process the data required to perform the contract: name, delivery and billing address, e-mail address and order details (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Payment data is processed by the payment service providers named at checkout; we do not store full payment credentials. We retain contract data for as long as statutory commercial and tax retention obligations require.
07Recipients of data
We share personal data only where necessary to operate the shop: with our hosting provider, with shipping carriers for delivery, and with payment providers for payment processing. Where processors act on our behalf, data processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR are in place. Data is not sold or shared for advertising purposes.
08Your rights
- Right of access to the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Right to rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Right to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
To exercise your rights, contact info@bardhgent.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the United Kingdom the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), in the EU the data protection authority of your member state, and in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
09Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes to the website — in particular once online ordering and payment go live. The version published on this page applies.
